Experience Required:
Familiarity with ISO9001/17025 implementation and maintenance; Understanding of control system theory; Understanding of variable speed drive control theory; Understanding of automotive application embedded system software design; Understands theory of electric machine operation and test techniques for induction and permanent magnet types; Understanding of traction motor testing and operation, induction and permanent magnet machines; Understanding of automotive electronic module design and production validation; Understanding of automotive wiring harness design for high and low voltage applications and knowledge of relevant SAE standards; Experience with electronic circuit design for automotive applications.
Experience Desired:
Familiarity with industrial electric systems including motor selection, motor controls, power distribution, wiring and protection devices is beneficial; Electronics design skills for sensor signal conditioning, control and actuator devices; General embedded system software design; Real-time operating system experience; PLC programming and interfacing to industrial controls and sensors; General embedded system hardware design; Knowledge of dynamometer lab test automation programming and operation is beneficial; Experience with ADAPT/Redline test system automation programming and operation is beneficial; General printed circuit board manufacturing and assembly techniques including surface mount; Printed circuit board design.
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited university; Must have at least 5 years experience in automotive product engineering; Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Project; Must be familiar with the operation of basic electronics equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, function generators; Must be competent with basic hand tools; Must be knowledgeable about electronics assembly and packaging; Citizenship or valid work permit required; Must have valid driver’s license and pass driving record check.Ability to program embedded or real-time systems in C and/or assembly language is beneficial; PC hardware knowledge a plus; PC repair skills; PC programming under Windows or Linux operating systems with any language; Web page design and web server implementation /w/ HTML, PERL or PHP skills; SQL database development and integration, with emphasis on using MySQL; Proficiency in the use of schematic capture and pc board layout software; Familiarity with dynamometer test equipment including automated test systems, dynamometers of all types and related equipment; Familiarity with gasoline and diesel engine management systems, control algorithms and commonly used sensors and actuators.
